Fleet

The Rocky Mountain Crane Service Fleet consists of both hydraulic truck cranes and high capacity lattice boom truck cranes.

Hydraulic truck cranes offer quick mobilization and set up and have advantages in tight quarters, but they are limited, due to their heavy booms; they rapidly lose capacity with long boom or long radii. Larger hydraulic truck cranes typically cannot move over the road or even around a job site without removing the counter weights.

Lattice boom cranes require longer set up times and can be difficult to set up in confined areas, but they do offer much better capacity throughout the load chart, and can usually be moved around a job site with little or no disassembly. Hydraulic control lattice boom cranes offer precision controls and safety while traditional friction control lattice boom truck cranes have an advantage in that their duty cycles are much faster than that of hydraulically controlled cranes.

'Friction' cranes do, however, require a more experienced operator. We utilize all three of these types of cranes and consider their strengths and weaknesses whenever we plan a lift.

Our large capacity lattice boom truck cranes have tremendous capacities. The newest addition to our fleet is the 440 ton Demag TC2000. In a standard configuration, the Demag can lift 40 tons at a 150 foot radius, and with a boom luffer combination, achieve lifting heights of 512 feet. Lattice boom truck cranes offer faster mobilization and set up times compared to track mounted cranes, saving both time and money.

All our operators are highly trained and NCCO certified and operating cranes equipped with state of the art computer monitoring systems that ensure an efficient, safe working environment on every job.

In compliment to our crane work we also have a variety of trucks, specialized trailers, forklifts, and manlifts.

Call us and we will work with you to give your project a lift!
